NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 29: Future of 89 students of the Government Girls’ Degree College hangs in the balance as it has not been granted affiliation by the Shah Abdul Latif University.

Students cannot seek admission to any other college because the date of admission has expired.

The principal of the college, Badal Kakepoto, said he had been able to get 89 girl students admitted to first year of the college despite the fact that the college building was far away from the town and had no bus service.

He said that he had applied for affiliation with the Shah Abdul Latif University in October 2005 but the university authorities demanded a letter from the education secretary.

The principal said that when he arranged a letter from the secretary, the university authorities advised him to deposited Rs10,000 as fee for visit of an affiliation team to the college.

He said the affiliation committee along with inspector colleges visited the college on January 4 but has so far given no response.

The principal said he also sent a reminder to the university authorities on Jan 17 but in vain.
