BAHAWALPUR: The scion of late Nawab of Bahawalpur and Abbasi family of Dera Nawab Sahib (Ahmedpur East) on Monday moved the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur bench, against the raids by law-enforcing agencies on their residence.
According to Sahibzada Umar Abbasi, a former UC nazim and brother of Punjab Assembly former deputy speaker Sahibzada Usman Abbasi, the court has been moved to seek justice. He claimed the LEAs teams neither carried any court orders to raid the house nor searched his residence.
It may be recalled that earlier Sahizada Umar Abbasi said the LEAs personnel carried out raids on his house at Dera Nawab Sahib. He also accused the teams of damaging their belongings and valuables.
It merits mentioning that Usman’s son Sahibzada Gazin Abbasi, a former PTI MPA, had announced quitting the PTI while his second son Sahibzada Zain Abbasi had returned the PTI ticket to contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly election from Ahmedpur East.
SACRIFICIAL ANIMALS: All the six sales centres and three markets in the city lacked the usual rush of buyers due to sky-rocketing prices of the sacrificial animals, particularly of goats and lambs as a result owners coming from far-flung desert areas of Cholistan sitting in tents got worried.
According to owners, customers visiting their camps are less in number as compared to last year.
