THE West has been pledging solidarity with Ukraine against Russian military intervention. Ironically, we do not see such ‘solidarity’ and support for Kashmiri Muslims who have been facing atrocities by the Indian occupation forces for the last over seven decades.

The Indian government under Narendra Modi has been killing Kashmiri Muslims by labelling them ‘terrorists’. If fighting for one’s homeland means terrorism, then what about the Indians who fought against the British, the Americans who fought against the British, the British who fought against Germany in World War II, and the Ukrainians currently fighting against Russia. Are they all terrorists? Should we label them ‘terrorists’?

The West is very concerned about the plight of Ukrainians, accusing Moscow of violating human rights, but it is least bothered about Palestinian Muslims whose rights are being violated for the last many decades.

Europe never opened its borders when there were conflicts and violations of human rights in Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and other Muslim countries; not in the manner in which the borders were opened for the Ukrainians. Why? Where are the human rights when it comes to the Muslims?
