Ameer Bhutto leaves PTI

LARKANA: Sardar Ameer Bakhsh Bhutto also resigned as senior vice president of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) central and from the basic membership of the party on Thursday. Senior vice president of PTI Sindh Dado Allah Bakhsh Unnar followed suit.

Addressing a press conference at Larkana Press Club, he disapproved of the politics of Imran Khan and condemned the incidents of May 9. “From today I shall no longer be in the party and quitting all its offices,” he said.

Flanked by Allah Bakhsh Unnar, Mr Bhutto said his press conference would have been held a year back, but friends had stopped and asked him to wait. Going into flashback, he referred to his meetings with Ali Zaidi and writing to Asad Umar in November 2022 wherein he had expressed his unwillingness to continue in the office.

Things remained unchanged, he said, adding that since the merger of the Sindh National Front (SNF) with the PTI, not even a single point of agreement had been implemented like the issues of the National Finance Commission, provincial autonomy and accommodating old party workers etc.

He said the PTI and Imran Khan had done nothing for Sindh as he always focused on Punjab, KPK and under variety of reasons, though invited to visit the province, he declined. In Ghotki, he (Imran Khan) in a public meeting said that there was no need of (visiting) interior of Sindh.

In reply to a question, he said there was no contact with Jahangir Tareen, though he had good old relations with him.

Endorsing the stance of Sardar Bhutto, Dado Allah Bakhsh Unnar also resigned as senior vice president of the PTI Sindh.
