He observed that the greatest conspiracy Pakistan has suffered from, is the conspiracy of silence and hoped that, unlike East Pakistan, people of Baluchistan will not be left alone in their fight for supremacy of law and constitutionalism. He wondered how Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, who had been openly pleading for confederation with India and Bangladesh, is allowed to preside over the destiny of an important Pakistani province. — News agencies

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from Karachi,] Pir Pagaro disclosed to a hurriedly called Press conference last night that a plot to assassinate him and members of his family had been drawn up. The United Democratic Front (UDF) President named a present and former Minister of Sind as the creators of the alleged conspiracy and said he had come to know of their plans through their own people. The first plot, hatched by a present Sind Minister, had been revealed to him by a person whom he had seen for the first time. … Mr Rahim Baksh Soomro, a Sind MPA, disclosed to him the second plot. …
