SIALKOT, Jan 23: Three people were killed and 19 others sustained serious injuries in an accident due to thick fog on Daska-Motra-Sialkot Road near Ghueinki village on Monday.
A wagon (LZK-5145), going to Sialkot from Daska, collided with a bus (PO-751) coming from the opposite side. Consequently, Muhammad Shehbaz of Verowala village, Shehzad Ameen and Abdul Rehman of Aadamkey Cheema village died instantly while 19 other passengers, including three women, suffered serious injuries. The injured — Haji Arshed, Rasheed, Iftikhar, Irshad Bibi, Liaquat Masih, Razia Bibi, Azmat Masih, Imran, Ismail, Rasheed Bibi, Usman and Tanveer, were admitted to Government Sardar Begum Memorial Hospital, Sialkot. While Imran, Malik Zeeshan and Naveed Fazal Elahi were shifted to Sialkot DHQ Hospital and Muhammad Anwar, Sultan Ali, Jabbar and Mushtaq were removed to Daska THQ Hospital in critical condition.
LOOTED: Three unidentified bandits on Monday looted cash, ornaments, cell phones and other valuables worth Rs100,000 from wagon (LZJ-9253) passengers near Bhikhi village, Daska tehsil.
Two armed robbers snatched Rs80,000 in cash from Wazirabad trader Muhammad Boota Rehmani near Kandan Sayyan-Bambaanwala village.
In Harrar-Muradpur, thieves took away the car of local industrialist Muhammad Arshed from outside of his house.
The car (LW-8960) of local trader Muhammad Akhtar Butt was taken away by thieves from College Road, Daska.
Police have registered separate cases.
