KUWAIT, Jan 21: Kuwait’s cabinet said on Saturday it was starting a constitutional process that could lead to the removal of the new ailing amir nearly a week after he was proclaimed ruler.

Under Kuwaiti law, the cabinet is allowed to have a medical team examine Amir Sheikh Saad al Abdulla al Sabah, 76, and report to parliament about his ability to rule. Sheikh Saad took over as amir on Sunday after the death of his cousin, Sheikh Jaber al Ahmad al Sabah.—Reuters
