SARGODHA, Jan 21: Four people were killed while 20 others sustained injuries, five of them serious, in an accident on Bhera Chak Ramdas Road, some 50 kilometres from here on Saturday.
A speeding bus (7370-PRJ), heading towards Chak Ramdas from Bhalwal, plunged into a roadside ditch after it overturned near Noorpur Hayat. Consequently, driver Shahbaz Shah, Kashif alias Kashi, Ghulam Muhammad and Kamran died instantly while 20 others suffered injuries, including five women.
They were rushed to hospital where the condition of Rasoolan Bibi, Razia Bibi, Qaiser Shahzad, Tanveer Ahmed and Batool Bibi was stated to be serious.
AWARENESS DRIVE: A traffic awareness drive will be launched here from Jan 24.
In this respect, a rally led by Sargodha range DIG Pervez Akbar Lodhi and District Nazim Sheikh Inamul Haq Piracha will be taken out. Similar rallies will also be held at all district headquarters, including Khushab, Bhakkar and Mianwali.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Sargodha Tehsil Nazim Malik Shoaib Awan has directed the shopkeepers and vendors to remove encroachments themselves by Jan 24.
