E-commerce service provider gets licence

KARACHI: PostEx, an e-commerce service provider offering firms access to capital with embedded logistics, said on Monday it has received a non-banking financial company (NBFC) licence by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

A press release said the NBFC licence will allow the company to offer various financial services to partner businesses, including loans and other financial products.

With its hybrid model, PostEx pays invoice values upfront to e-commerce companies offering cash on delivery and enables them to have access to growth capital with its logistics arm covering over 600 cities.

“Access to capital is the biggest challenge for e-commerce businesses in Pakistan… from working capital to growth capital, we want to be the first and last source of capital for e-commerce,” said company CEO Omer Khan.
