Two shot dead in Dera incidents
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two persons were killed in separate incidents of firing, police said here on Wednesday.
A police official said that Aslam Baloch son of Khadim Hussain of Ghonsar area of Parova tehsil was attacked by unknown motorcyclists at Nawab Adda in Dera Ismail Khan city when he was going on a motorcycle along with his wife. He was seriously injured in the firing and immediately shifted to the district headquarters hospital. Later he was referred to Multan but he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The victim’s wife escaped the attack.
The police said that the killing of Aslam Baloch is the result of sectarian violence. Aslam Baloch was a graduate of Madrassa Kotli Imam Hussain.
It may be mentioned here that last month, two young people from Aslam Baloch’s family were also targeted. So far 28 members of his family have been victim of targeted killing in Dera Ismail Khan.
In another incident, police said, 66-year-old Sultan Shah Shirazi belonging to the Shirani tribe was shot and killed in Zakai village of the merged semi-tribal area of Darazanda tehsil.
The son of the victim while filing a report with the Darzanda police station, said that he was going to the fields with his father when six people attacked them, killing his father on the spot while he himself managed to escape.
In his report, he told police that six brothers including Toti Shah Sherani and Fateh Shah Sherani got hold of my father and the main accused, Toti Shah, opened fire and killed my father. He denied any enmity with the accused.
The police have registered separate cases of these incidents and started investigation.
