GUJRANWALA, Jan 31: An additional district and sessions judge awarded death sentence to two convicts with a fine of Rs200,000 collectively in a murder case here on Thursday.

The court acquitted two co-accused, Amir Shahzad and Zafar Iqbal, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

According to the prosecution, convicts Naeem and Afzal had killed a businessman, Zainul Abiden, after snatching Rs150,000 from him on Jan 9, 2001.

Meanwhile, an additional district and sessions judge sentenced one Khalil Ahmad to death with a fine of Rs50,000 in a murder case.
