GUJRANWALA, Jan 13: Insanitary conditions have worsened after the Eid as the newly-created towns are facing shortage of workers. After closure of the tehsil municipal administration of city, the authorities concerned had sacked 1,800 daily-wagers two months ago.
Immediately after Eid, people started throwing offal of the sacrificial animals in the open creating filth and vermin.
Medical experts are of the view that the odour poses a threat to human health and the offal should immediately be removed.
The Aroop Town officer told this correspondent that the nazim was supervising the situation, but shortage of sanitary workers was making the task difficult.
