KARACHI, Jan 9: National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) on Monday named 30 men and women shooters to attend the training camp to prepare for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne in March.
The camp will commence from Jan 18 at Naval Shooting Range under the supervision of two Level-I Chinese coaches.
The shooters were picked for the camp on the basis of performances in the just concluded 15th National Shooting Championship.
Shooters included 2002 Manchester Games bronze medal winners Irshad Ali and Zahid Ali.
Best shooter of the national championship Maqbool Tabbsum with Mustaqeem Shah were picked for both Rapidfire Pistol and Centrefire Pistol events.
Following shooters were picked for training camp:
Rapid Pistol: Maqbool Tabbsum, Kashif Riaz , Mustaqeem Shah, Afsar Khan, Shahnawaz.
Centrefire Pistol: Mustqeem Shah, Zahid Ali, Maqbool Tabbasum, Irshad Ali, Muhammad Kabeer.
Prone Air Rifle: M.Ayaz Tahir, M.Tufail, Rashid Javed, Dawood Jan, M. Kaleem, Siddique, Firdous Khan.
Skeet: Khurram Inam, Ahmed Sultan, R.M. Shafique, Amin Karamat, Abu Bakar Air
Pistol (women): Mehwish Khan, Farhat, Azra, Abida, Noureen.
Air Rifle (women): Mazish Khan, Habbira, Urooj, Nouseen and Nadia Khan.—APP
