LAHORE: The Punjab caretaker cabinet has decided to revise the wheat support price and sought recommendations from its standing committee.

A paperless meeting of the cabinet was held under caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi here on Thursday.

The CM directed the formation of a ministerial committee, tasked with finalising a Ramazan relief package. The committee will present its recommendations at the next cabinet meeting.

A ministerial committee was also formed to determine the security cost during PSL matches in the province. It recommended a zero-risk and cost-effective solution in this regard and would also consult the PCB.

The cabinet also approved the austerity policy for 2022-23, and a committee would ensure implementation of measures for savings.

The meeting approved a technical supplementary grant for the operational expenditures of the Punjab Police, besides approving the appointment of retired Justice Kazim Raza Shamsi as the chairman of the Punjab Appellate Tribunal.

During the meeting, it was agreed to revise the rules and regulations governing the Cabinet Standing Committee for Finance and Development, the Cabinet Standing Committee for Legal Issues and Privatisation, and the Cabinet Standing Committee for Law and Order.

The Cabinet Standing Committee for Law and Order was also given decision-making powers to fulfil its responsibilities.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including provincial ministers, the chief secretary and the IGP.
