ISLAMABAD, Jan 7: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said that the government was committed to strengthening professional capabilities of the armed forces. “The government remains committed to make the PAF invincible,” he added.
The prime minister was talking to Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat in a meeting at the Prime Minister’s House. During the meeting, the air chief discussed matters pertaining to further strengthening of the Pakistan Air Force.
The prime minister said that the PAF had a crucial role to play in securing the country’s air space. The government, he said, would provide all necessary resources in this regard.
The upgradation and modernization programme of the air force was also discussed during the meeting.
The prime minister said that the JF-17 project is moving ahead satisfactorily. Acquisition of modern technology and expertise in its use would provide additional strength to the air power, he said.
