Model villages to be set up in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Jan 4: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is planning to set up more model villages in the federal capital’s rural belt designated as zone-IV, sources said on Wednesday. Seven such villages were set up in the past in order to provide better living conditions and to discourage migration to the capital’s urban hub.

A survey would be conducted soon to determine how many more model villages could be established in the rural zone. A model village is provided with health and educational facilities, clean drinking water, roads and vocational training opportunities.—APP
