LAHORE, Jan 3: Punjab Industries, Commerce and Invest-ment Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema has said the government will establish a common facility centre for auto parts manufacturers at Kot Lakhpat and develop an industrial estate for them.
The minister gave an assurance to this effect to PAPAM Chairman Razzak Ahmed and members during his visit to the office of the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers here. Provincial Industries Secretary Javed Majid also accompanied him during the visit.
The proposed facility centre will assist the auto parts makers in understanding the latest mould and die technologies, rapid prototyping, testing of sheet metal components and facilitate structure design analysis, including process simulations for plastics.
The set up of the management board of the proposed facility centre was also finalized during the meeting.
