ABBOTTABAD, Jan 3: Nazims and members of the provincial and national assemblies in all the union councils of Abbottabad district are distributing the flour sent by Turkey for earthquake-affected people among non-deserving people.
Turkey had sent for the survivors a total of 24,000 million tons of flour, which is being distributed through the governments of the five quake-hit districts of NWFP.
It should be noted that in the Oct 8 earthquake about 10 union councils of Abbottabad district had been badly damaged, while flour is being distributed in all 55 union councils of the district.
It has been learnt that the officials had proposed that the flour should be distributed only in the affected union councils. However, they could not resist the pressure of elected representatives as relief items are also being distributed among those who do not deserve it.
Many countries have sent food and relief goods for the affected areas but due to poor management and corruption it could not be distributed properly.
The survivors here protested that the nazims and other officials concerned were distributing the flour among their supporters.
