PESHAWAR, Jan 1: Minister of State Dr Nasim Ashraf on Sunday said that the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) would accelerate the rehabilitation work in quake-hit areas to protect the victims from chilly cold and snowfall.
Speaking at a public meeting in Devli Jabbar locality at Mansehra, he promised that facilities of education, health, housing, business, etc., would be provided to the area. The NCHD has built 200 houses in Devli Jabbar and is running a tent school, medical camp, and a drinking water and sanitation system in the area.
Dr Ashraf, who is also chairman of the NCHD, said that the commission was concentrating to ensure timely rehabilitation of quake victims.
Later, the NCHD chief visited one of the field hospitals in Nalla Jabbar area.
“Dozens of surgeries have been performed and many lives have been saved. Two male doctors and a lady doctor are examining patients,” he was informed. Earlier, he attended a briefing.
