PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party provincial president Najamuddin Khan on Sunday claimed his party’s graph was going up and that it would win the next general elections in the country.

He expressed these views while talking to members of Chitral Journalists Forum led by its president Nadir Khwaja at the residence of MPA Amjad Afridi here.

He claimed public welfare was the only agenda of PPP and it would continue to serve the people with zeal.

During the PPP government, he said special attention was paid to the backward areas of the province. “The great project of Lowari Tunnel was the landmark achievement of late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.”

Mr Najamuddin said PPP had played an important role in development of backward areas, including Chitral. He said there was no grouping within the PPP and workers were fully united in all the districts.

On the occasion, Amjad Afridi said PPP was a representative party of all classes. “Under the active leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the party had got a new life.”

Mr Afridi said PPP believed in independent media and always welcomed constructive criticism. He said politics and journalism went hand in hand, adding every segment of the society should play role in development of backward districts.
