LAHORE: The Punjab Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Department and Benazir Income Support Programme on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding to ensure access to the GPS location of adults and children deprived of education.
The department also launched a teachers’ portal.
The department Secretary Wajihullah Kundi said the main objective of the department was to ensure access to the GPS location of adults and children deprived of education across Punjab.
He said the step had been taken to speed up the process of providing education to illiterate people and children living in backward areas of the province.
He said the teachers and mobilisers would be able to reach under GPS location and teachers’ registration portal would also facilitate the process of online recruitment along with teachers’ registration.
He said all focus was on search for people deprived of education in remote areas.
