KARACHI, Dec 30: Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd (SNGPL) were in trouble against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) on the penultimate day of their four-day Patron’s Cricket Trophy Grade-I match at NBP Sports Complex ground on Friday after a fine hundred by opener Saeed Anwar Junior.

Set a 350 target to win in 93 overs, SNGPL were tottering at 26 for the loss of two wickets in their second innings. Skipper Misbahul Haq was batting on six and Imran Khalid was 14 not out.

Earlier Saeed hit seven fours in his 106 after 316-minute stay and Azhar Ali cracked 64 off 122 balls in his 143 minutes vigil at the crease which included a solitary boundary to give KRL a chance for victory.

Openers Saeed and Mohtashim gave KRL a flying start by putting on 96 for the first wicket.

Imran Khalid took three wickets for 83 in 32 overs of left arm spin and off-spinner Murtuza Hussain chipped in with three for 85 in 27.5 overs.

KRL declared their second innings in last hour at 286 for seven wickets.
