Workshop on heat equipment begins

SWABI, Dec 30: A three-day workshop on “Heat Exchangers: Installation, Operation and Maintenance” began in Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology here on Friday.

The workshop has been organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with Isotherm Incorporation USA which is specialized in designing and fabrication of heat transfer equipment for refrigeration and industrial process applications.

Workshop coordinator Dr M Sultan Khan said that the workshop was meant for both academia and industry.

He said that 31 distinguished members from different national and multinational companies were participating in the workshop.

The participants also came from the Heavy Mechanical Complex, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, the Nescom, Attock Refinery Limited, the Descon Limited, the Imperial Chemical Industries, the Pakistan Institute of Applied Physics, the Pakistan Petroleum Limited, the Suparco, the Scientific and Engineering Services, the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, the Water and Power Development Authority, the NWFP University of Engineering and Technology and the National University of Sciences and Technologies.
