Karate: Wapda on golden trail

KARACHI, Dec 29: Experienced Wapda karatekas made a spectacular start on the opening day of 15th national karate championship with triple gold at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre Hall on Thursday.

Ghulam Ali grabbed the senior individual kata gold while Shamsuz Zaman captured the 80 kilogram gold and Wapda also scooped up Kata gold to steal the show in three-day championship.

Trio of Ghulam Ali, Khalid Noor and Noorullah were part of Wapda team which won the senior kata gold while Sindh comprised of Qazi Abbas, Abdul Rahim and Abdul Jabbar claimed the silver. Abdul Khaliq Changezi gave host Sindh a gold medal in junior kata.
