Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has termed the PTI's reaction to the attack on party chairman Imran Khan to be "alarming".

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he began by condemning violence in politics as "hate worthy". "We have political differences but not enmities".

At the same time, the minister said that the manner in which the events had been complicated by the PTI leadership was "alarming". He questioned why the Punjab government failed to adopt the necessary safety procedures.

"Where were the security [measures] when the firing happened?"

He also condemned the way the PTI named three government and military officials as responsible for the attack without offering any proof.
