MANSEHRA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has decided to show its street power by holding a big public meeting here to counter the rallies of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

The decision was made in a meeting held here on Sunday with JUI-F provincial deputy emir Haydaitullah Shah in the chair.

“Our roots are in people. We would hold a mega public gathering, which would be addressed by party’s chief Fazlur Rehman,” Mr Shah told the meeting.

The meeting, which was also attended by former opposition leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Shahzada Gustasab Khan and former general secretary of district bar Fahd Habib, finalised a strategy to mobilise people.

The public meeting is likely to be held on November 26 of the current year.

“We have public backing and support. Our party is the second largest one in the province. We secured almost equal seats of tehsil chairmen in the first and second phases of the local government elections,” said Mr Shah.

He said that party workers and activists should launch a door-to-door campaign to invite people to the public meeting.

CM AIDE: Adviser to Chief Minister on Home and Tribal Affairs MPA Babar Saleem Khan Swati has said that despite all odds being created by the federal government, the provincial government would meet its financial and other obligations with dignity and honour.

“Our government introduced drastic changes in the health and education sectors, which will continue despite all financial and other odds created by the federal government,” he told a rally here on Sunday.

Mr Swati arrived in his hometown Mansehra for the first time after being inducted into the provincial cabinet on October 18.

He said that the gravity flow water supply scheme was also finalised by the government but centre was making false claims about it. “This is our scheme of Rs18.5 billion and around 50 per cent money is being contributed by the provincial government,” he added.

He said that the establishment of a medical college, the first women university and the gravity water supply scheme were already reflected in Annual Development Programme.

PTI divisional head and MNA Saleh Mohammad Khan also addressed the rally.
