Qasim grabs lead at Sindh Amateurs

KARACHI: Qasim Ali Khan fired one-over 73 in the second round of the Sindh Amateur Golf Championship on Saturday to take a two-shot lead with the last 18 holes to play.

The one-handicapper shot two birdies as he moved to four-over 148 overall at the top of the leaderboard, ahead of Arsalan S. Khan (75) and Saad Habib before Sunday’s final round in the 0-6 handicap contest.

Abdul Moiz posted the day’s best score of 72 and is tied at 151 with Omar Shikoh Khan (74). Overnight leader Abdullah Ansar returned a disappointing card of 80 and is two shots further adrift alongside Rao M. Haris (76).

In the contest for 7-12 handicappers, Cdre Abdur Rehman (82) is tied for the lead with Saad Rana (77) at 157. Nasrullah Sheikh (78) is two shots adrift of the leaders.
