UET attains universal recognition

PESHAWAR, Dec 26: Vice-Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology NWFP Syed Imtiaz Gillani on Monday said during the past two years, the UET had attained universal recognition because of its better educational polices and excellent performance in research and academic fields.

The VC praised the university’s administrative policies and said projects costing more than Rs1.6 billion, approved by HEC, were in progress at the UET.

After taking charge as the VC, his first priority was to improve education standard and to bring it on a par with globally-reputed universities, he added.

After the Oct 8 earthquake, the Engineering University Peshawar was assigned the duty of approving a national building code, said Imtiaz Gillani.—APP
