Trailer for Tich Button launched

KARACHI: Suddenly, it seems that the movie season has set in. Make no mistake, it’s a good sign. The trailer launch for an upcoming film Tich Button on Tuesday evening at the Arts Council of Pakistan was another testimony to the observation. It saw a big number of media persons, both from electronic and print mediums, turn up for the event.

The cast of the movie includes Feroze Khan, Sonya Hussyn, Farhan Saeed, Sohail Ahmed, Marina Khan and Iman Ali. It’s after a pretty long stretch of time that Iman Ali was seen at a showbiz function, and as expected she hogged the limelight. She looked elegant. But she did come fashionably late. The first ones to arrive were Farhan Saeed and the producer of the project, Urwa Hocaine.

Talking to Dawn, the director of the movie Qasim Ali Mureed said, “The film is a family drama, romance, and it’s about compatibility. It focuses on those who live like a family, who know the good and bad traits of each other. Not just that, they are aware of the mistakes they make but ignore them in order for life not to get disturbed.”

The film will be released across country next month

Shedding light on the name of the film he said, “Tich button is to do with the same thing, compatibility, that is, when pairs become important for one another. They can be friends, parents, siblings etc.”

Answering a question about categorising the project, he said it’s a romantic comedy.

The director also expressed his views on the current state of the Pakistan film industry. “For the last few years, everyone has been doing their bit to revive the industry. There have been ‘thick and thin’ situations. The prevailing [socioeconomic] conditions in a country affect the cultural landscape as well. If artists remain frustrated then it will affect everyone.”

After an hour or so of the red carpet hustle and bustle, where the cameras were not just focused on the younger lot of actors but also on seasoned actor Sohail Ahmed, who was all praise for the director and his team, attendees went inside the council’s auditorium where the trailer for the film was run twice.

The cast and crew also spoke on the occasion.

Tich Button will have its countrywide release on Nov 11.
