LAHORE, Dec 24: Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) drew 1-1 against Railways in Second Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Cup at Lahore’s Railway Stadium on Saturday.

Pakistan Railways dominated the proceeding from the kick-off but sterling defensive work POF denied them from scoring and against the run of play

POF took the lead when referee Naeem Zaidi (Wapda) awarded them a penalty-kick. Naeem Butt made no mistake from the spot kick. POF led 1-0 at interval.

It was big sigh of relief for Railways when international striker Zaheer Abbas restored parity in the 69th minute.

The last 21 minutes of absorbing, hard-fought tussle provided many chances to both outfits but they failed to hit the back of the net.

POF will now take on PTV on Dec 27 at Wah while Railways Will play PTV at Islamabad on Dec 31.

Matches in Group A will commence on Dec 28 with Sindh Government Press (SGP), Karachi’s Mauripur Baloch Club, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) battling it out for top honours.—Agencies
