Asif Zardari’s condition stable at hospital, says minister
KARACHI: Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Wednesday brushed aside reports about the infirmity of Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, saying that the former president’s health was fine and he would be back to the Bilawal House soon.
In reply to a question at a press conference, the provincial minister said that Mr Zardari had undergone a normal medical procedure on Tuesday night at a city hospital and it was not an extraordinary occurrence.
He said that the health of the former president was in stable condition.
The former president was shifted to a private hospital on Tuesday night as he was not feeling well. The speculation about his health circulated after his hospitalisation as his health had reportedly deteriorated.
A team of expert doctors at Ziauddin Hospital was appointed for the examination and treatment of Mr Zardari.
Sources said that the PPP co-chairman, who had been shifted to the hospital on the complaint of chest pain and lungs issue, was still under treatment.
