LAHORE, Dec 22: The Kasur police conducted raids in the city on Wednesday night and arrested eight people, including four hired assassins, in a quadruple murder case. Kasur DPO Ahmad Mobin said he had sent his three teams to Lahore on a tip-off. He added a source had confided to him that the four hired assassins were involved in the quadruple murder, and could be arrested if acted promptly.

Four members of a family were found dead in Saddar area of Kasur five days ago. They all had been shot in their mouths, while their hands and legs had been tied up.

Subsequent investigation had found out that the murders were an outcome of an old enmity between Arain and Dogar families of the area. Nine people have so far been murdered from both the sides, the DPO said.

The arrested persons, including the hired assassins, were identified as Iqbal, Ilyas, Safdar, Amjad, Salamat, Hasan and Hanifaan Bibi.

The hired assassins were also wanted by the Lahore police in other crimes, including murders, Mr Ahmad said. He added a large number of illicit weapons were seized from the accused.
