Seminar on export marketing opportunities

SIALKOT, Dec 20: The UNIDO has offered advanced export marketing opportunities for sports goods and sports wear industry through Smeda, enabling them to explore and capture international markets.

Under this programme, the Smeda has taken an initiated to arrange seminars in big industrial cities in collaboration with the UNIDO. It organized a seminar on ‘Export marketing opportunities for sports goods/sports wear industry’ at the local chamber of commerce and industry on Tuesday.

UNIDO’s Anjum Ahmad and Jagat Shah and Smeda’s Alamgir Chaudhry and Ashfaq Ahmad addressed the seminar.

EXPERTS: A delegation of USAID facts-finding experts visited the local chamber of commerce and industry on Tuesday.

USAID experts Dr Ritu Nayyar Stone, Dr Robert Ebel, Dr Khalid Rashid and Ms Sonia Ignatora discussed the possibilities of involving the local business community in bringing betterment to health and education promotion issues, besides evaluating economic growth under the revolution support project.

The visiting USAID delegation also called on district nazim Akmal Cheema and tehsil nazim Imtiazuddin Dar.

NOTICE: The chief minister has taken a serious notice of the incident in which a girl was gang-raped allegedly by four influentials in Ranjhai village, Daska, some five days ago.

Official sources said the chief minister, expressing concern over the incident, had directed DPO Dr Tariq Khokhar to ensure the arrest of the rapists within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, girl’s father Mohammad Din said the influential accused were still at large, and threatening the family with dire consequences for reporting the matter to the police.
