GUJRANWALA, Dec 19: Five prayer leaders were booked on the charge of violating a ban on the use of loudspeakers here on Monday. Those booked were: Maulana Abdul Aziz, Hafiz Muhammad Safder Ali of Kamoki, Maulana Abdul Rehman, Maulana Ijaz Ahmad and Syed Farooq Haider Shah of Wahando.

Except for azan and Friday sermons, the government has imposed a ban on the use of loudspeakers in mosques through a notification. Police have registered cases against prayer leaders with no arrest so far.
