KHAIRPUR, Dec 17: Power supply remained suspended for 10 hours from the Luqman city feeder-I here on Saturday. Around 20 localities, including Faiz Mahal area, Garhi Pul, Talpur Colony, Unnar Colony, Butro, Shaheedabad, Abid Colony and the DCO house and office remained without electricity from 4am to 2pm.

A protest meeting under Arbelo and Aijaz Bhutto was held at the Hilaj Chowk, Mirwah Canal.

The protesters raised slogans against the Hesco.

Meanwhile, a large number of power consumers from old Ahmedpur, Khwaja village, Fateh Ali Chandio, Shaikh, Khosa and Shar areas took out a procession on Saturday in old Ahmedpur for suspension of electricity since last one week.

PROTEST: Shopkeepers and residents of Khairpur staged a demonstration here on Saturday on the Station Road against the taluka municipal administration. Traffic remained suspended during the protest.

Reports said that the taluka municipal administration had tried to remove encroachments from the Station Road.

Speaking on the occasion, protesters alleged that political vindictive measures were being taken on the pretext of encroachments.
