IJT threatens to launch protest drive

LAHORE, Dec 16: The Islami Jamiat Tulba warned the Punjab University administration on Friday that they would launch a protest campaign if it did not take back the decision of expelling students. A spokesman said the IJT was a peaceful students’ wing and believed in promoting student activities in educational institutions. He said students expulsion on charges of holding an admission stall was unjust as it provided guidance to the students.

He said the administration’s action was a conspiracy against the provincial government as it wanted the students to take to street. The IJT would not allow the administration to take action against the students on the pretext of depoliticizing the campus, he said.
