PESHAWAR, Dec 15: Nazims of three union councils on Thursday warned the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) that roads in the city would be blocked on Dec 25 if it did not stop loadshedding. The warning was issued by the nazim of union council Tehkal Payan, Atif Rehman, of Palosi, Gul Bashar Khan, and of Tehkal, Bala Hasan Khan during a press conference.

They criticized officials for what they called the step-motherly attitude of Pesco officials towards power consumers of the three union councils by resorting to unscheduled load-shedding.

They said low voltage was another problem which caused damage to electrical appliances.

“It is unjust to keep power off for 14 hours a day, causing immense hardship to people,” Mr Atif Rehman said.
