Nato relief work to end by Jan 20: spokesman

BAGH, Dec 14: Nato Forces Bagh Communication Officer on Wednesday said relief work in the affected areas would be completed by Jan 20. “We have no political objective behind it and Nato is taking measures for the rehabilitation of the affected areas since many months,” he told a press briefing on Wednesday.

He said the Nato forces were working day and night for the survivors of the Oct 8 quake on the request of the government of Pakistan through an agreement. He said Nato’s relief teams had only two Americans. It included 20 countries that were working under a formal system.

He said England teams were working in mountainous regions and providing optimum health facilities to the survivors living on mountains. Nato, he said, had established 20 temporary hospitals and education institutions.

He said that the target would be completed by January that included construction of roads, temporary restoration of health organizations and education institutions.—Online
