BAJAUR: The district administration on Monday withdrew orders for the arrest of Youth of Bajaur chairman Rehan Zeb Khan for organising a protest sit-in recently against alleged irregularities in appointments in government departments.

The development came after successful talks between a delegation of tribal elders and political leaders and officials here.

Talking to reporters after the talks, members of the delegation, including ANP district president Gul Afzal Khan, Mamund tribe senior elder Malik Mohammad Ayaz Khan and JI district chief Sardar Khan, said the district administration had agreed to withdraw the detention orders of Mr Zab issued by deputy commissioner some days ago.

They said they requested deputy commissioner Iftikhar Alam to withdraw the detention orders of Youth of Bajaur chairman Rehan Zeb issued under 3 MPO to avoid any possible reaction by his colleagues.

The elders said they assured the officials that the Youth of Bajaur would not only remain peaceful but would also cancel its scheduled protest to highlight alleged irregularities in appointments.
