Call for having PMDC bill approved by Senate

OKARA: The government is delaying the process of sending the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) Bill to the Senate for approval, says Pakistan Medical Association Lahore president Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf Nizami.

Speaking as a chief guest at the PMA House after administering oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of district chapter, he said the doctors and other health professionals were suffering owing to indifference of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

He said the bill had already been passed by the National Assembly and the government must fulfill its commitment to have it approved from the Senate.

PMA office-bearers including president Dr Khushnood Anwar Thaheem and general secretary Dr Shah Nawaz Malik took oath of their offices.
