KARACHI: Another minor girl fell prey to a stray bullet in the Quaidabad area, police said.

Area SHO Malik Ashraf said the family claimed that Zainab Akhtar, 6, was asleep on the roof of her house near Gul Ahmed Textile factory when a bullet fired from unknown direction hit her in an eye.

She was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced her dead.

Earlier on Thursday, a minor girl also met the same fate in the Malir City area.

Man killed over enmity

A 30-year-old man was shot dead in Orangi’s Mominabad area late Friday night over personal enmity near Ghafooriya Masjid.

Police said Fida Hussain, owner of a video game shop in area, was sitting at his shop when armed pillion riders appeared and opened indiscriminate firing on him and fled.

Area SHO said that the victim suffered three bullet wounds and died on the spot. He said one of the suspects was constantly talking with someone on his cell phone.

The police were investigating the murder from two possible angles. The victim had married a girl in the past who was already engaged. Secondly, the deceased reportedly also had some property dispute in his native place in Buner.
