MUZAFFARGARH: Three members of a family were killed when a wall of a house collapsed on Wednesday morning in Gharib Shahwala area of Saitpur in Alipur tehsil, some 120 kilometers from the city.

Reports said Nazir Ahmad and his sons Zahoor Ahmad and Hasnain were asleep when the wall collapsed.

The bodies were taken out of the rubble by the people and shifted to hospital as rescuers reached the spot late.

Al-BADR OPERATION: As many as 3,500 criminal were arrested in Al-Badr operation in katcha area, said Additional Inspector General of Police south Punjab Dr. Ehsan Sadiq in a meeting with senior officials in which the RPO Dera Ghazi Khan and AIG (Discipline) south Punjab Imran Shaukat also participated.

The Bahawalpur RPO, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur DPOs participated via video link.

The meeting reviewed in detail the katcha operation. The DPO Rahim Yar Khan and DPO Rajanpur briefed the meeting about the ongoing operation in katcha area.

The additional IG said all resources should be utilised to eradicate criminal elements from the area.

Speaking about security arrangements during the international cricket matches in Multan, the additional IG said more than 6,000 police officials had been deployed while other law-enforcement agencies were also assisting.

He said it was the responsibility of the police to maintain peace in all situations and concrete steps were taken for the purpose.

On Wednesday, the additional IG visited the cricket stadium and checked the security arrangements while he also met with the Pakistan Cricket Board officials.
