Ban on kite, string trade extended

LAHORE, Dec 9: A full bench of the Supreme Court on Friday extended till Jan 26 the ban on flying, manufacturing and trading of kite and string with the hope that the Punjab government in particular and other provincial governments in general would ensure its implementation in letter and spirit.

Comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday, Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmad and Justice Karamat Nazir Bhandari, the apex court appreciated the provincial governments’ efforts in the field of legislation and implementing the apex court’s order of Oct 25.—Correspondent
