Balochistan CM Bizenjo, Mehmood Khan Achakzai discuss political situation

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai on Tuesday discussed the prevailing political situation in the country and issues concerning the province.

Mr Bizenjo called on Mr Achakzai at the latter’s residence, where they discussed the political situation in the country and the province and ongoing development projects in the province and the coming budget, official sources said.

The chief minister informed Mr Achakzai that work was in progress on the current Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and the Quetta development package, which included the construction of roads, water supply and other facilities.

“The work on the Quetta development package, which was halted in the previous government, has been resumed,” he said, adding that the government had released the required funds to the Water and Sewerage Authority to end water shortage and provide clean drinking water to the residents of the provincial capital.

Mr Bizenjo also informed Mr Achakzai that the development of Quetta city and its surrounding areas would be given top priority in the next financial year’s PSDP.

He said the government believed in equal development for all areas of the province and it was taking all possible steps in this regard.

The chief minister thanked Mr Achakzai for keeping his party’s lone MPA in the Balochistan Assembly impartial in the no-trust motion moved against him by a group of lawmakers headed by Jam Kamal Khan Alyani against him. Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai also attended the meeting.
