Anjuman Taraqqi-i-Urdu retains office-bearers
KARACHI: The Anjuman Taraqqi-i-Urdu Pakistan has held its first-ever general body meeting, in which the incumbent office-bearers were re-elected unopposed for their respective offices for another three-year term.
Earlier, the administration presented its three-year performance report in front of the organisation members, according to a statement issued here.
The meeting was also addressed by its advisory board members, including Pakistan Academy of Letters chairman Dr Yousuf Khushik, Dr Anwaar Ahmed, Dr Najeeb Jamal and Dr Fatima Hasan. Presenting their suggestions, they assured the Anjuman of their full cooperation.
The members praised the performance of the re-elected office-bearers, including Wajid Jawad as president, Zahida Hina as secretary and Syed Abid Rizvi as treasurer.
The members also re-elected the advisory board unanimously besides inducting two new members, Ali Khurram Zaidi and Asif Aziz Zubairi, into it Among others, the meeting was also attended by Dr Sajid Hussain, Dr Tanzeem-ul-Firdaus, Dr Tehmeena Abbas, advocate Abid Sherwani, Dr Shadab Ehsaani, advocate Iftikhar Ahmed, Jahangir Khan, Dr Shama Afroz and Huma Mannan.
