TOBA TEK SINGH: Two persons were killed allegedly in a crossfire between two families at Chak 223-RB in the limits of Factory Area Police Station, Faisalabad.
Ghulam Abbas said in his first information report (FIR) that Sultan Mahmood had contracted a second marriage with his sister, Nasim Akhtar. When she came to know that Sultan was an addict and she restrained him from using narcotics, he and his son, Muhammad Kaif, from his first wife used to torture her.
She returned back to the house of her parents and filed a case for dissolution of marriage.
At this, Sultan Mahmood, his son Kaif and their six accomplices attacked his house and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result of the firing, Abbas’s brother Khizar Abbas and an unidentified accomplice of the suspects died on the spot. The complainant said his brother and a man from their rival party both were killed as a result of the firing of his brother-in-law.
SUSPENDED: Faisalabad City Police Officer Ali Nasir Rizvi took notice of the complaint of a minor rape victim girl and her brother against an investigating officer of the Millat Town Police Station for negligence and suspended him from service.
During an open court at the police station, the 10-year-old victim girl told the CPO she was raped 10 days ago by her neighbour.
She added that before she was produced before the magistrate for recording her statement, ASI Farhan Ali Sindhu forced her not to tell the magistrate about the rape and refused to get her medical examination done.
The CPO assured the girl and her brother that an inquiry would also be conducted against the ASI and he would be terminated from service if the charges against him proved right.
