LAHORE, Dec 8: The Punjab Education Department has dismissed 64 schoolteachers from service on charges of absenteeism and maladministration. The decision was taken at a meeting with Punjab Education Minister Imran Masood in the chair on Thursday. The action has been taken under E&D rules.
Some 130 teachers have been censured, increment of 95 officials and teachers has been stopped and deduction from the salary of 201 teachers also ordered.
Imran Masood said the chief minister had asked him to make monitoring system of educational institutions more effective. He said the disciplinary action would be taken against the absentee teachers. He asked all DCOs, education and works EDOs to monitor the schemes started under the Education Sector Reforms Programme.
F-GRADE: The education department allowed the students who had passed their secondary school certificate with F-grade and in the meantime had also got through intermediate (part-I) to avail the one per cent grace marks facility out of the total marks that is maximum nine marks or appear in the SSC examination 2006 to improve the grade.
