Harvested wheat stock on Ghinwa’s land torched

LARKANA: Some miscreants put to match freshly harvested wheat piles at a piece of farmland owned by Ghinwa Bhutto, chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) within the jurisdiction of Ketti Mumtaz police station late on Monday night.

All the wheat harvested from eight acres burnt to ashes till farmers rushed to put out the fire, said Inayat Umrani, estate manager of Ghinwa Bhutto.

He told reporters that police later tracked down the suspects with the help of sniffer dogs who led them to a guesthouse of Imdad Shaikh in Bhanbho Shaikh village in the riverine area. Police picked up Imdad Shaikh and his son Ghulam Asghar over suspicions of their involvement in the incident.

However, no case had been registered yet, he said.
