KARAK, Oct 4: The District Nazim, Karak, Mohammad Sharif Khattak, has said that construction of roads plays a pivotal role in development of any area and keeping in view the importance of this sector, allout efforts will be made to construct maximum roads in every part of the district under available resources.
This, he said, while presiding over a meeting of district development committee, held at DCO office on Thursday. The District Coordination Officer Aftab Akbar Durrani, assistant coordination officer Aziz-ur-Rehman, District Naib Nazim Malik Qasim Khan, Tehsil Nazim Karak Malik Qudrat Gul and officials of different departments attended the meeting.
The meeting, which lasted one hour, discussed in detail the construction and widening of Karak-Sabir Abad road.
Briefing the meeting, Project Director of Kohat Development Authority Mohammad Daud said that an amount of Rs10.2 million had been allocated for first phase of the road. He also informed the meeting about the construction of Karak Township and construction of shopping centre at Karak Development Authority which would be built at a cost of Rs2.7 million and Rs6.4 million respectively.
The meeting also gave an approval for the construction of the shopping centre.
Speaking at the meeting, the District Nazim advised the authorities concerned to change the alignment of the road from Service Station up to the main highway via Kach Banda, so that distance as well as expenditure would be decreased.
