Curtailing oil import bill

LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) on Tuesday called for an effective strategy to cope with the fast increasing oil import bill and suggested various measures to minimise oil usage by the masses in a bid to energise the economy.

“The cut in oil and fuel usage will save foreign exchange, reduce environmental impacts and will increase energy sustainability,” LCCI President Mian Nauman Kabir said in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The chamber suggested that for future generations’ energy needs, fuel sources should be developed from renewable resources as they are clean and efficient.
